The ADAP program engages with out of school adolescent girls from disadvantaged groups by imparting an intensive training on social and financial life-skills in Dhanusha, Saptari and Rautahat districts in the Eastern Terai. The package covers twelve topics relevant to adolescents. A core group of community change agents are trained who then roll out the training in their respective communities and GATE centers.
Ghar Ghar Ma Swasthya (GGMS) or Healthy Homes
Focus Area : 75 Districts Donor : USAID
The GGMS program trains private sector family planning service providers on service delivery and how to maintain quality of care when doing so. NFCC has been sub-contracted to train and certify every new service provider who joins the Sangini franchised network as well as provide refresher trainings to existing service providers in this program period of 5 years.
Integrating Menstrual Hygiene Management Into School Health Program

The roll out of the Menstrual Health Hygiene & Rights (MHH&R) package developed by NFCC and endorsed by the Family Health Division and Department of Education is being rolled out in a number of districts through collaborative partnership with a number of donors. While some donors are supporting the roll out of the package in communities in a district other donors are supporting its roll out through the school system on the same district.
Updating National Cervical Cancer Implementation Plan (2016-2020)
Focus Area : National Donor : UNFPA
With technical assistance from WHO, the Family Health Division (FHD) under the Ministry of Health and Population Nepal (MoHP) developed the National Guidelines for Cervical Cancer Screening and Prevention (CCSP) for Nepal in 2010. A National Implementation Plan was developed for 2013-15 with the aim to screen at least 50% of the target population within five years and to reduce mortality due to cervical cancer with at least 10%. NFCC has been contracted by UNFPA to update the National Implementation Plan for the period of 2016-2020. It is expected that the said plan will encompass targets, goals, budget and mechanisms for cervical cancer screening in Nepal for the next five years.
Multi-ethnic Assessment of Menstrual Hygiene Management
Focus Area : 9 Districts Donor : Dutch WASH Alliance
NFCC in collaboration with Water, Sanitation and Hygiene-Resource Centre Network Nepal conducted to understand the knowledge, behavior and attitude about menstruation/menstrual hygiene management and practices associated with it. The nine ethnic groups studied were Brahmin, Chhetri, Musalman, Magar, Yadav, Newar, Tamang, Kami and Tharu from nine districts, namely Doti, Dang, Kapilvastu, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Tanahun, Makwanpur, Saptari and Jhapa. Currently, data analysis is in process.
